A Definition Of Leadership Best - 1115 Words

â€Å"You can do what I cannot do. I can do what you cannot do. Together we can do great things.† Searching for a definition of leadership can be best served when drawing upon experiences from some of the world’s greatest leaders. For me, it is Mother Theresa who has defined the idea of leadership best. It may seem a bit cliche to quote her when addressing the particular topic, but no one has set a definition more true than Mother Theresa herself. It is the mere act of leading by example that can propel leaders to greatness. There are some personality traits that peek through during childhood that give a sign of what an individual could potentially achieve in their lifetime. For me, most would say my perseverance is what molded me into me. Being born with a seemingly incurable disease was a true test of character, not only for me but for my entire family. This, I believe, propelled me to where I am today: a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a best friend, a coach, a teacher, but, most importantly, a leader. It can be said that individuals are shaped from their upbringing. I agree. My mother is one of the hardest working individuals I know, and she has always been that way. She has led me to believe that hard work and a positive attitude will lead to a life of satisfaction. My father is the same way. He has always worked hard from sun up to sun down.
